Electric room heater becomes a necessity in winters. One can not waste valuable time shivering or covered in blankets though even blankets fail when it comes to freezing cold breezes.

Advancement in technology has given us so many options to overcome problems like this !!!. But an option best for one person may not be the best for the other.

That is why I have sorted the room heaters into four main categories from which you can choose the one best suited to your lifestyle and according to their capacity to heat the room and the time it takes to cool down after the power cut.

Search For These

When choosing a room heater one should always look for answers to some of the following questions:

1. The area the heater is capable of heating.

2. Time is taken by the heater to heat a particular area.

3. Does it create suffocation when in a closed room?.

4. How many power settings are provided.

5. Is it Portable or not?.

These five are the most important criteria to keep in mind when looking for the best and I have covered all these questions so that the best is not only best for one person but for many..!

Also, I have been doing research for buying room heater for me but all internet buying guides got me confused with fancy words like Halogen heater, Oil-filled heater, and others.

I have understood each type of room heater individually and have explained each in simple words. Let’s get started.

Types of Room heaters

Room heaters can be categorized into 4 types

  • Heat convectors – (Blower room heaters)
  • Halogen heaters – (infrared heaters, Quartz heaters)
  • Fan heaters – (Ceramic heater)
  • Simple rod heater – (Radiant heaters)
PRO TIP: Try not to use a power extension cable with any type for the heater, they may not be rated for the power of the heater.

Heat Convectors

What they are? In simple words, heat convectors are heaters without fans.

Common Features

They use natural processes to move the heated air back into the conditioned space (that is your room). In addition, the heat convector is quieter than a fan heater.

Without the use of a fan to blow air, they are able to minimize the circulation of dust and pollen, making for a better work environment.

Best suited for

Convectors are ideal for use in areas with large spans of windows such as offices, schools, and hotel lobbies.

They are available in a variety of sizes, colors, and configurations and some brands add an extra feature for your relevancy.

Let’s take a look at some of the best room heater convectors available in the Indian market. For my reader’s relevance and ease, I have sorted covectors on the basis of brands and prices.
